All Dorm Crew employees are strongly encouraged to set up Direct Deposit in order to receive payment while away from campus and to decrease the risk of losing a check. Spring Clean-Up workers should note that, even with mail forwarding set up, it can take several additional weeks to receive a paper check during the summer break. The only way to ensure a timely delivery of your paycheck is to have Direct Deposit.
There are two ways to set up Direct Deposit. Students only need to use one method to sign up for Direct Deposit. A sample check is displayed below indicating where to find your routing and account numbers:
- Paper Copy: Students who have not previously worked for Dorm Crew are strongly encouraged to fill out the following Direct Deposit Authorization Form and bring the form to Fall Clean-Up registration or turn it into the Dorm Crew Office. Note that students should only list one account on the form. If you are setting up Direct Deposit into a checking account, you will also need to bring a voided check from that account with your form. This method will ensure that the first check issued from Dorm Crew will be deposited directly into the student’s account.
- Online: Students who are already in the Harvard Payroll system may alternatively follow the instructions listed below to sign up for Direct Deposit online. This method must be verified with your bank by the Harvard Payroll office and so one paper check will be issued before Direct Deposit takes effect.

Online Setup Instructions
- Go to HarvIE. You will need to enter your HUID number and PIN. If the site does not accept your HUID/PIN (make sure you enter it correctly!), it just means that the payroll office has not yet processed your I-9. Wait a few weeks and try again.
- Click on the white “PeopleSoft Access” button in the upper right hand corner. You will again need to enter your HUID number and PIN.
- From there, just go to Self-Service » Employee » Tasks » Direct Deposit » Add Account and fill out the online form.
