It’s lucrative. It’s fun. It’s a great way to start your summer.
After spring exams, Dorm Crew hires approximately four hundred students who stay on campus for up to four weeks, working for Spring Clean-Up. During this time, on-campus housing is provided, students work on crews under student captains, and evenings are free to enjoy Harvard for a few weeks without any classes. Many students take advantage of Spring Clean-Up to earn money for their summer plans; others enjoy spending some extra flexible time at Harvard while holding a great job. Overtime at time and a half pay is sometimes available. Spring Clean-Up allows you to make a lot of money fast, and to have fun while you’re doing it. During the first, third, and fourth weeks of Spring Clean-Up, you will make at least $480 per week. During the second week, you will have the opportunity to earn up to $1200. It may be necessary for us to limit the number of workers during Spring Clean-Up. If so, preference will be given to term-time Dorm Crew workers. To work for the maximum amount of time, buy your ticket home for June 9th, 2012.
Spring Clean-Up 2012:
During the first week, Pre-Commencement (May 14 – May 18), crews work to prepare the dorms for the alumni. You must commit to work Monday-Friday of this week.
During the second week, Commencement (May 20 – May 27), many different jobs are available with the reunions. Depending on which job you get, you must commit to a range of days between Sunday the 20th and Sunday the 27th. Some jobs may require work on Saturday the 19th, as well.
During the third and fourth weeks, Post-Commencement (May 28 – June 1, June 4 – June 8), crews work to prepare the dorms for summer school students. You may choose to leave at any point during these two weeks, but you will have to move out of housing the day after finishing work. Those working through June 8 may stay until the morning of June 9.
